Stage Two

Age 8 - Age 10

Grades Three to Five

Stage two spans ages 8- 10 and consists of students from grades three to five in most of our classrooms.  These are years of intellectual expansiveness. Students transition from a time when concrete operations are solidifying, through a time of trouble with abstractions, to an increasing ability to abstract. Third, fourth, and fifth-grade students are in how things are put together, and in how things work. During these years, they begin to work well in groups.

Stage Two: Goals and Student Portfolio

Content1.JPG

We believe that a key element of development is a child's clarity on their goals and their ability to continuously reflect and self-monitor their progress towards the same. Here, you will find stage two holistic student goals and a portfolio that has been designed to capture every individual child's personal journey with the 8 Cs through the year.
